The third day of Milan Fashion Week was marked by the new spring-summer collection of Versace, which Donatella dedicated to the sea-engulfed Atlantis. There is a lot of symbolism and parallels in the choice of inspiration for the collection when the world as we know it and our way of life collapsed at lightning speed due to the coronavirus epidemic. For Donatella Versace, who spent several months in Milan, the archives of the fashion house became a fulcrum for a new beginning. The spring-summer 1992 collection helped her return to her roots and rethink them.
“I wanted to find a way to bring the brand’s DNA into a new reality, but at the same time not lose the essence of Versace”, says Donatella of her ideas.
The Italian designer expressed all these feelings and thoughts on the catwalk with the help of a series of visions in rich and bright shades, combining orange and yellow, green and pink, purple and blue. Some of them were combined with solo-colored bright clothes, while others were mixed into graphic prints and drawings.
